Bringing summer to an end with Six Flags America DC/Maryland

My boys and I have had the opportunities to travel a lot this summer. Hotels, lodges, beaches, water parks, theme parks, we have hit a lot of them these last few months. We are bringing our summer to a close and gearing up to head back to school in a couple weeks but before the school bell rings we are holding off on the school bus ride for one more day of theme park rides. We will be visiting Six Flags America DC/Maryland.

I have been to Six Flags but it has been decades a really long time since I have been and my boys have never been before. I'm hoping my youngest is finally tall enough to ride a roller coaster or something because the last park we went to he wasn't tall enough to ride the rides he wanted (missed them by an inch). I like that the Six Flags America site lists the rides by name, height requirements (if any), the thrill rating and the location. This makes it easier on me to see what my boys and I can enjoy together and which we'll need to skip until they are a little older.

The Bonzai Pipelines looks like waterpark fun that we can enjoy. My boys love the water and when you add in the speed of the pipelines to get them to the water I'm sure this attraction will not disappoint. Hopefully the weather cooperates and is nice and sunny so we can enjoy all that the park has to offer. I still need to download the show schedule so we can do our best to catch the Looney Tunes characters and the Justice League will probably be a must for my guys once they hear that those characters will be there.

Looking at the food & fun section of Six Flags, we will have plenty of options for shopping and places to eat. I'll be sharing our day at Six Flags America with y'all soon. Have you visited Six Flags recently? What tips do you have for us? Any must see shows or must ride rides? Since we are going for just a day I want to make sure we get as much fun in as we can.

disclaimer: we received complimentary tickets to Six Flags America DC/Maryland. All opinions are my own.
