When it came to flavored water we always bought Sobe life water. The prices of everything keeps going up and up and the Sobe was no exception. I decided though we enjoyed them we didn't enjoy them enough to pay $1.33 a bottle for it. I found Clear American flavored beverages at Walmart across the aisle from the Sobe's and made the switch. The Clear American offers more flavors than Sobe and Clear American costs less even for the bigger sizes.
Over the weekend I was trying to come up with some treats and drinks for the boys to enjoy during a Halloween craft day coming up. There are so many food possibilities for Halloween foods and drinks that are kid friendly.
We went to our local Walmart and looked over the Clear American beverage choices. The college kids must've been in shopping this week because the Clear American beverages were slim pickings for flavors that weren't wiped out. The only had 1 flavor in the 2 liter bottle and that was the golden peach flavor (only $0.98). They also offer many flavors in 33.8 oz size bottles. After helping the boys look over all the flavors that were available we chose the Raspberry Apple Clear American beverage. It has the fruity combo of raspberry and apples and the fizz you get from a soda so they thought it was a fruit soda.
We picked out a couple different Halloween drink recipes to try because we couldn't pick just one. The first we tried was a Vampire Bite.
Vampire Bite
ingredients:
Raspberry Apple Clear American (or flavor of choice)
1 Fruit Chillers freeze pop (we used strawberry)
red food coloring
Pour a glass of the Clear American and add a drop or 2 of red food coloring. Break the Fruit Chiller up into little chunks and add it a piece at a time to the glass. The Fruit Chiller makes the Clear American fizz a bit which the boys thought was cool.
Then we tried the Alien Blood...
Alien Blood
ingredients:
Clear American flavored beverage (we used raspberry apple)
blue food coloring
green food coloring
Pour the Clear American into a glass. Add 1 drop of blue food coloring and 1 drop of green food coloring.
After we had made the alien blood drinks I had a thought that these would be great with blue jello broken up into the drinks to make it a little thicker.

We are also working on a punch that we are calling swamp witch green halloween punch with ice made from water filled and frozen rubber gloves and a face mask to try. It is supposed to look like the witch is floating up out of the swamp. The ingredients for that are Clear American flavored beverage (we have Key Lime) and lime sherbet.
I enjoyed the Raspberry Apple Clear American very much. Now I'm ready to trythe many other flavors. What do you serve your family and friends as you get ready or party for Halloween?
