The boys and I have had a lot going on the last few months. Some not so good but also some really good things have been happening for us. To add to our excitement lately I came across an invitation to the 2016 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I all most deleted the email thinking it was spam!
I read the email aloud to Jersey Boy (boyfriend) and as I explained just how wonderful it was to just be invited he said then you should go if you can. So I registered and the 5 of us are headed to Walt Disney World. What a Mother's Day weekend that will be! I was invited a few years ago but couldn't make the trip but I was glad to see another blogger was able to get pixie dusted with an invitation in my place. As a blogger that takes trips to conferences that are bloggers only has always left me feeling bad about going and doing things without my boys and that's one thing about DSMMC, we are allowed and encouraged to bring the family along. Sure we have sessions for just us bloggers but we also have family time scheduled and events that involve bloggers and their families.
Not familiar with Disney Social Media Moms celebration? The Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is a conference held at Walt Disney World (or land) once a year for bloggers hand picked to attend by Disney. The host hotel this year is the Disney Yacht Club Resort. This grand New England-style lakeside hotel is within walking distance to Epcot and a convenient boat ride to Disney's Hollywood Studios. This will be my first stay at the Yacht Club resort and I am looking forward to it.
Without having a lot of details just yet, we do know we will have sessions to attend to get the behind the ears scoop on all things Disney, family meals to enjoy, park time, and I'm looking forward to meeting up with blogger friends and making new ones. I haven't been to Disney since 2001 and my boys have never been so this is sure to be a magical trip. I have a few more surprises up my sleeve for this trip but everyone has to wait just a little longer for those!
We told the boys a few days ago about getting to go to Disney. I wanted to do something besides just telling them hey guys we're going to Disney so I planned dinner with hidden mickeys and then we created some shirts for the five of us to wear one day of the trip.
