Bad things may happen but I'm still thankful for the good life #GoodLife

I'm a firm believer that you can't have the good without the bad. There is always a chance of being in a car wreck but I'll still be on the road eight hours to travel to the Reviewer's Retreat blog conference in July. The plane could malfunction but I'll still be flying to BlogHer in Chicago. Allstate’s motto “Good Hands for the Good Life” is new and different for an insurance company. It has a voice of optimism and celebration vs. fear. I choose celebration over fear any day. I can't stay at home and wonder what if. Allstate Good Life is trying to show that they are more focused on creating more good vs. taking care of the bad.

My husband and I may be separated but through this process I have learned a lot about myself and what I am truly capable of. I am a lot stronger than I ever thought possible. I thought the anxiety, fear and doubt would consume me in the beginning but I knew I had to decide to choose to create more good in my life. I chose to give up smoking and use the money I was burning (literally) to get myself a gym membership. I chose to get out and get involved rather than sitting at home alone wallowing in my sorrows.

We lost my step dad to brain cancer last summer. My Mom and I are still dealing with the emotions of that every day. She surrounds her self with friends and family who can support her. We are running a benefit for the National Brain Tumor Society the end of June. We want to help raise money to support the research for a cure. We're choosing to remember the good life my step dad had though it was short lived and help support the ones that tried to save his life.

Our lives will be full of 'bad' moments when we say we have had enough and are ready to throw in the towel but we each have to remember that no matter how bad it gets there are still moments in life that could be good and even great waiting to happen.

What is your good life story? Are you pregnant after years of trying? Did you feel you were too old to go back to school but chose to go back anyways? Did you and your spouse or partner split up or separate but decide that things were worth fighting for and saving? We want to hear your good life story.
