I use my slow cooker a lot but sometimes there are recipes that just need a little oven love. My oven baked chicken breast recipe is one of those. There’s 3 steps to this juicy oven baked chicken breast recipe.

Our kids all have certain types of meals that they enjoy and for my step daughter it’s chicken. She doesn’t care much for beef so on the nights that we have her with us for supper it’s 9 times out of 10 a meal revolving around chicken. When I was learning to cook I was scared that I would do something wrong or over cook the meat and it would be dry. Then I learned this recipe and dry chicken is no longer a worry. With the 3 steps I’m sharing with y’all, you can have perfectly baked chicken every time.

STEP 1: Marinate
I use melted butter or olive oil as the base to my baked chicken marinade. I add salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and a little paprika for seasoning of the marinade. I add a couple chicken breasts to a large zipper bag with the marinade and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour (I usually do this the night before and let the chicken marinate over night).

Step 2: Roast
I have some family members try to tell me that low and slow is best for baking chicken but I prefer high heat for a shorter time. You can bake the chicken at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or my preferred way of 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Shorter, higher baking gives the chicken a crispy outside and juicy inside (I could say very moist inside but I dislike the m word very much haha).

Step 3: Rest
This is the most important of the 3 steps- letting the chicken rest. I cover the cooked breasts with some foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
