Beer buffs and winos, how many of y'all are ready to see what's on tap in Lynchburg in a couple weeks? I know I am! The 5th annual Lynchburg Beer and Wine Festival will be at the Lynchburg City Stadium in Lynchburg, VA on September 20, 2014 from 11am til 7pm.
Lynchburg Beer and Wine Festival
The Lynchburg Beer and Wine fest has grown by many (beer) hops and bounds since it first started in 2010 bringing more than 8,000 people to the one day event in the Hill City. At the Lynchburg Beer and Wine festival you will be able to check out (and sample from) 17 local wineries and 26 breweries as well as many other artisans and crafters. New to the festival for 2014- The Budweiser Brewmaster Tour.
The Budweiser Brewmaster Tour is a one-of-a-kind mobile marketing brand activation providing guests 21 and older a step by step look at Budweiser’s time-honored 30-day brewing process replicated after the St. Louis Brewery Tour. Real Bud Brewmasters lead this fully immersive, free consumer experience designed to engage all five senses and communicate Budweiser’s approach to quality in brewing.
Stepping inside the 48ft. trailer, small groups are led through five brewing zones. Each guest has the opportunity to smell and feel the hops, barley, yeast and rice, used to produce Budweiser and peer into brewing tanks showing the actual brewing process. A temperature-controlled cool room allows visitors to "feel" the brewery environment during the aging and finishing stages. The final stop of the tour invites visitors to enjoy a Budweiser sample directly from a scaled down finishing tank, relax in the biergarten and peruse a merchandise pop-up shop via BudShop.com kiosks.
If you follow me on instagram (@shaneybee) you have seen I enjoy pizza with my strawberrita beer.
What dishes do you pair with your wine or beer? The festival perimeter will be lined with all types of foods to tempt just about every pallet. Pizza, burgers, hotdogs, ribs, wings, BBQ and even Mediterranean, Italian, and Greek cuisine.
Delectable drinks and good eats go well with good music. You'll have the opportunity to listen to local musicians and bands through out the day while you are sampling and having a good time.
Don't let that good time bring you down at the end of the day by drinking and driving. If you don't have a DD (designated driver) you can pay $10 for Drinkfree to pick you up at your location (within 20 miles of the stadium) and take you back home at the end of your festival visit.
