Beef stew recipe

I love a good bowl of soup, stew, stoup (thicker than soup but not as thick as stew) or chowder. I’m all about easy cooking but if it doesn’t taste good then it doesn’t matter how easy it was to fix. I have a beef stew recipe that is both easy to fix and it tastes good. I fixed it last week and I had enough to feed the 4 of us for 2 nights dinner. You can either let it simmer on the stove or let it cook in the crock pot. I have a few crock pots though they aren’t all the crock pot brand. Most southerns call all of their slow cookers crock pots I think? What’s it to ya?

Beef Stew recipe

"easy beef stew recipe slow cooker crock pot"

Ingredients:
1 package of stew beef
Carrots, diced- I dice up about 2-3 you could add one small can if you don’t have fresh
1/2 Tbs. Onion powder (Grandma’s recipe calls for 1 onion but I prefer the powder to the real deal)
4-5 potatoes, peeled and diced (I used the idaho potatoes but you use whatever type you prefer)
2 cans green beans, drained (can also use 2-3 cups of frozen beans)
1 can corn, 11 oz. size, drained (I use Green GiantSteam Crisp Super Sweet White Corn)
Diced tomatoes, 29oz. can
V8 Original juice, (3) 11.5 oz cans
1 cup water
3-4 Beef bouillon cubes
salt and pepper to taste (I use about 1 Tsp. of each)

Directions:
Completely cook your beef in a skillet until done. Place all of the ingredients, including the cooked stew beef, in a large pot on the stove. Give it a good stir with a large spoon or ladle. Bring the stew to a boil for 10 minutes then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover the pot with a lid and let it cook for 2 hours. If you make this in the crock pot just add ingredients to the crock pot and let cook on high for 3-4 hours.

There you have it, a easy beef stew recipe. Let us know how it works out for you if you decide to give it a try. The vegetables used in this stew you can mix and match or use whatever you find that you like. Lima beans and peas are also good add ins.
